Amazing Fantasy
was originally a comic entitled Amazing Adventures (#1-6), it
changed to Amazing Adult Fantasy (#7-13). These titles all
showcased Horror, Mystery, Monster & Other Stories. The last issue, Amazing
Fantasy #15 in August 1962 was the chance for Stan Lee, Steve Ditko
& Jack Kirby to "Try-out" their Co-Creation
"Spider-Man"...It was a Hit!, readers wrote back demanding to
see the character again.
Well, they got what they wanted as soon as March
1963 rolled by, Amazing Spider-Man #1 hit the stands!. It is to
this day THE major Spider-Man title as it is the longest running & for
a long time, the only Spider-Man title...Vol I ended in November of 1998.
Vol II began in January 1999. That volume continues to this day and going
strong.
