It didn’t take long for the world to
destroy itself in a paroxysm of greed and selfishness. Following the
Corporate Wars, a few huge Mega-Corps would control most of the world’s
wealth and technology. Once they held that power, they would seldom
hesitate to ruthlessly use it to their own ends. All this happened about a
hundred years from now—in 2099. In this blasted world, an enclave of
outcasts, rebels, mutants, and degens gathered together in the supposedly
deserted town of Nuevo Sol. They were led by a messianic figure named
X’ian who took his inspiration from such twentieth century figures as
Professor Xavier and Magneto. From the outcasts he formed a group of
mutants with special abilities to become his new X-Men. With them, he
hoped to forge a better life for all those who didn’t want to lead
bar-coded, productized existences as pawns of the corporations.
